Begin training, begin hunting... the choice is yours.

Once a skill is "stuck" in that 100+ limbo and you are unable to gain, you can always purchase +skill balls to assist.

Carefully calculate what your bonuses on your levelable gear add up to. You do not want to put too many of one stat in.
